The energy unit of Metlen manages the company's energy assets including gas-fired thermal power plants and Renewable Energy Sources units (Wind Farms, Photovoltaic Parks and Small Hydropower Plants). Additionally, the company is active in the sector of electricity trading and supply, has introduced a greenhouse gas emission allowance trading scheme, while in order to cover its needs in Natural Gas is active in natural gas contract management - supply. Since 2008, Metlen is active in cross-border electricity trading in Southeastern Europe Countries. The company is a member of the Greek and Italian energy market (power exchange) while performs transactions with Albania, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Bulgaria, Turkey, Hungary and Romania.
